Backstory
Pete was part of the Porcelain Police, an exemplary officer in gleaming blue-and-white armour with a plume.
His downfall came when, giving chase to a robber across the Bridge of Towers, a carriage slammed into him and sent him into the Flow.
Something changed permanently.
At a raid on a Mob warehouse raid, Pete was left behind by the Porcelain Police.
Cheeky found him broken in that warehouse, promised to protect him, and recruited him.
The Krag twins decied to throw Pete into their fighting pits.
He ran on redwoosh, a low-grade Tea blend, which kept him fighting but he has no more access to his former magical self.
Aliases:
Officer 392.
Officer 452.
Officer Nothing Muscles
Nothing.
Prisoner Pete.
Pit Pete.
Starfighter Pete.
Appearance
A porcelain automaton, towering at 6'7".
Wearing a big black overcoat with the collar up, flat cap, leather gloves and boots.
His face is bright china white with a blue china pattern.
Criss-crossed with veins of gold where he has melted down gold coins (using his steam) to fill his cracks in a kintsugi manner.
When he rages the tea and vapour starts to fizz out of his clockwork mechanism.
Part of his interior is described as a barista kit.
When Maureen lets him drink her special tea, he develops the concept of rhythm. His clockwork mechanism morphs into a metronome.
Victory noise: boop-boop.
In episode 2 he is disguising himself with a pinstripe suit, boater hat and cane.
Personality
Earnest, literal, and unexpectedly tender.
Pete processes the world through very direct logic.
He announces himself as a slave because that is accurate.
He is sincerely kind and heroic:
Willing to help Rover to become a man again. When Maureen is in the Flow, he wants to go back into rescue her. Talks to Maureen about Cheeky, "a slave of the mind".
He is learning to swear. He has decided to swear more.
Pete and the Flow
In episode 1 he jumps into the Flow, with unknown effects:
He can't work out if he is something more or something less, but he is something different.
In episode 3 he ends up in the flow again, no new effects (yet).
