Summary Episode 2
Previously on:
The crew of ne'er-do-wells: Cheeky Dustbins, Carlos Huispas, Porcelain Pete and Maureen Quickfoot joined forces with Rover the bulldog and their fixer Magpie on a job at the Songbird Docks in Donlon.
It went sideways, Billy Krag (cousin of the Krag Twins) was killed in the fighting.
The party made it back to Magpie's caravan in the Thorough Market.
They were paid for their trouble and offered a very lucrative new job.
The session ended with a hint that Carlos has additional, secret motives.
Summary:
Dawn breaks over Donlon. The crew wakes in Magpie's caravan after a well-earned long rest.
Maureen stirs from a vivid dream visitation by Chlorine, her dead lover, who urges her to abandon her path of revenge against the Krag Twins. Maureen refuses.
Pete bursts in cheerfully, they share croissants and dancing tea (which gives Pete a surprising new sense of rhythm),
and the whole party ends up crowding into Maureen's room in various states of undress in what becomes an unconventional team-bonding moment.
Magpie emerges from a tea cosy to brief them on the mission.
They are to deliver a sealed pot of Black Tea to a buyer in Hellsea (the wealthiest part of Donlon).
This new and extraordinarily powerful blend from the distant land of Cathlon, never before seen in Donlon.
The drop point is a florist called The Rose Leaf, ask for Pelham and use the code phrase:
'Two blooms for a copper' in response to 'Who will buy my sweet red roses?'
They have until six o'clock.
With all of Donlon's criminal underworld hunting them for Billy Krag's death, disguises are essential.
Pete dons a pinstripe suit and boater hat.
Cheeky reinvents himself as 'Deeky Chustbins.'
Carlos casts Disguise Self, taking on the form of a dog-like figure called 'Fido.'
Maureen shaves her head and becomes 'John McClane.'
They discover a Mobgoblin armoured Flow-powered carriage in a nearby garage, de-pimp it enthusiastically (except for Cheeky), and set off for Hellsea.
Just before their departure, Pete overhears a suspicious exchange between Rover and Magpie about a 'standard rate' and an 'alternative.'
He confronts Rover on the driver's seat, and Rover shares his backstory:
he was once a human man cursed into the form of a bulldog by Arch Minister Reginald Toby Punch after spilling a drink on him.
Magpie found him, cut him loose, and has been searching for a remedy ever since.
The 'alternative' Rover mentioned is the Black Tea itself — he considers it, but holds back.
The journey through Sheepley hits trouble when Porcelain Police block the road.
Cheeky attempts to shoot the cable of an overhead crane to clear a path, and misses, killing the crane operator instead.
Rover floors it through the fallen crane's wreckage and into a busy plaza full of pigeons.
On the other side, three Street Genies, a North Donlon gang who syphon djinn magic into their racing velocipedes, launch in pursuit.
What follows is an extraordinary running battle through Donlon's streets.
Pete teleports directly onto the lead Genie's velocipede and kicks him into the road (where he dissolves into 2D street art).
Carlos uses very successfully his Guiding Bolt.
Maureen climbs onto the carriage roof and splits into four mirror images of herself.
Cheeky puts a Genie to sleep from the window.
Pete kicks the final Genie off the roof in spectacular fashion ('Graffiti is not art, it's VANDALISM!').
Just as the last Street Genie falls, two centaurs gallop in: Bronwyn and Caerdwen, bodyguards of the Queenly Court.
They have been sent to seize the Black Tea for their leader the Mercury.
Maureen recognises them from her performing days. She refuses to hand over the Black Tea to them.
As the crew approaches Poxhall Bridge with Porcelain Police closing off the Hellsea end, Bronwyn sounds a hunting horn, and the Twilight Twins arrive to close out the episode.

- What happened to Susie?
- Is Pelham the actual Tea King of Donlon or only the middle-man.
- What is going on with the propaganda billboard for the Porcelain Police?
